Plate and Panel Vacuum Lifter
Overview
A vacuum lifter for moving large flat panels. It hangs from a crane or hoist hook on a central lifting eye, the suction cups sit on a steel beam underneath, and the operator attaches the load with a hand slide valve on the beam. Plate, glass, stone and composite panels up to 6 × 2 m can then be lifted, carried and set down by one person.
Three drive versions cover the range from 200 kg to 2,000 kg. Pneumatic units run from a workshop air line at 0.6–0.8 MPa with no electrical parts at all, mains units run from 220 V or 380 V, and rechargeable units carry a 12 V battery pack so the machine needs neither an air line nor a cable at the point of use. Main beams come in 2 m, 3 m and 5 m lengths with a 1 m cross beam, and suction-cup counts run from 6 to 20.

Suction cups
The cups bolt to the cross beams on spring-loaded stems, so they follow a slightly bowed or uneven panel instead of lifting off it. Each cup has its own ball valve: when a narrow panel only reaches some of the cups, the ones outside the sheet are simply shut off rather than breaking the vacuum circuit.
Cups unbolt individually and both beams are adjustable, so one machine covers a spread of panel sizes and a damaged cup can be replaced on its own.
Three Drive Versions
The same frame and cup layout is available with three different ways of making the vacuum, so the machine can be matched to what the workshop already has: an air line, a mains socket, or nothing at all.

Capacities, beam lengths and suction-cup counts are built to the panel you handle, and other combinations are available to order. The load figures are the rated capacity of the machine; the vacuum circuit, the cups and the surface of the load must be checked before every lift.
